   Open the Weber County Sheriff roster

   Start at Weber County Sheriff’s current inmate roster page. Read the terms notice shown by the Sheriff before relying on the information.

   Search the legal name

   Enter the person’s last name first. Add the first name when needed. If a surname has a hyphen, multiple parts or an alternate spelling, test the accurate legal variations rather than using a nickname.

   Compare more than the name

   Use age, gender, middle name, booking date and any detail-page information to reduce the risk of identifying the wrong person with a common name.

   Record the displayed name, booking date and other identifiers before switching to the Booking & Release or Utah Courts source.

   Verify urgent custody questions with Corrections

   If someone is arranging bail, transportation or another time-sensitive action, call Weber County Corrections at 801-778-6700 rather than relying on an old screenshot.

   Check the criminal case separately

   Use Utah Courts Xchange when you need case status, court history or disposition.

1. Do not pay because someone called you. The Sheriff’s Office says it will not call relatives to tell them they can post bail.
2. Do not use Venmo, PayPal or Bitcoin for a claimed Sheriff bail payment. The current scam notice specifically says the office does not accept those payment platforms.
3. Hang up and independently call the jail. Use 801-778-6700 or 801-778-6737 as listed in the Sheriff’s scam warning.
4. Verify the inmate yourself. Open the Sheriff-hosted roster from the county website rather than clicking a payment link sent by a caller.
5. Confirm the bail condition before money changes hands. Booking staff may classify bail as cash-only or bondable, and holds may affect release.

Weber County also says internet visits begin at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Available appointment times vary with inmate classification and are shown during scheduling.

A booking record answers a custody question. Utah Courts is where you go when you need the criminal case history, filed charge, court events or disposition.

   Get the exact legal name from the jail record

   Middle names and spelling matter when court systems contain multiple people with similar names.

   Compare names, filing location, charge information and dates before assuming a same-name court result is the correct person.

   Look for later hearings, amended charges, dismissal, plea, judgment or other disposition information.

Use the Sheriff’s Records Section when you need a case report, DI-9 accident report, inmate record, mugshot or another Sheriff-held record rather than simply an online roster entry.

   The Sheriff’s Office encourages electronic requests through Weber County’s records-request system.

   Describe the record with reasonable specificity

   Provide the person’s name, incident or booking date, case number if known, type of record and other details that help identify exactly what you want.

   Upload valid government photo identification

   The Sheriff’s current instructions require a copy of a valid driver’s license or state/federal government-issued photo ID with the request.

   Expect access rules to depend on the record

   Many Sheriff records are classified private, protected or controlled under Utah’s Government Records Access and Management Act. Submission does not guarantee public release.

   Allow processing time

   The Sheriff’s page tells requesters to allow a ten-day grace period for report requests, although some records may be available sooner and individual requests vary.

1. Retry the roster with the legal name. Do not search only a nickname.
2. Call 801-778-6700 if custody status is urgent. Use direct jail verification before arranging money or transportation.
3. Check Utah Courts. A case can continue after release from jail.
4. Check UDC only if state custody or supervision makes sense. UDC does not list ordinary unsentenced Weber County jail detainees.

1. Using an old mugshot repost instead of the Sheriff roster. Start with the county source when current custody matters.
2. Calling an arrest charge a conviction. Use Utah Courts to determine the case outcome.
3. Sending “bail” through Venmo, PayPal or Bitcoin after a phone call. The Sheriff specifically warns families about this scam.
4. Assuming an inmate can visit or use commissary immediately after booking. R&O and classification can affect privileges, and classification may take up to 72 hours.
5. Mailing an envelope because another Utah jail accepts it. Weber County’s current regular-mail rule is much narrower and calls for qualifying postcards.
6. Searching UDC for someone awaiting trial in Weber County Jail. Utah DOC says unsentenced county-jail detainees will not appear in its offender search.
7. Using Xchange when you only need access to your own supported case. Check MyCourtCase first because Utah Courts may provide your case access without a paid public Xchange search.
8. Using an old GRAMA fee sheet. Verify the amount currently displayed on the Sheriff’s Records page before submitting the request.
