The public system changed recently. The former Kearney Police-to-Citizen site included functions such as inmate inquiry, a daily bulletin, accident reports and a wanted list. After the local agencies moved to new records and jail-management software, a replacement public portal came back online in 2026 with a smaller confirmed feature set.

   Open Buffalo County’s official website and use its Police to Citizen (P2C) quick link, or open the current portal directly at kearney-pd-ne.zuercherportal.com.

   This is the confirmed 2026 route for checking people presently represented in the public jail system. Use the person’s full legal name and compare identifying information carefully before assuming a result belongs to the person you are researching.

   Read custody data as a current snapshot

   Jail status can change after bond, court action, transfer or release. If the information affects a pickup, court appearance or other time-sensitive decision, call the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office at 308-236-8555 to verify.

   If the person is no longer listed, change sources

   Do not keep searching only the current-inmate tool. Use Kearney Police Records for an incident/offense report, Nebraska JUSTICE for the case, or Nebraska State Patrol for a formal statewide RAP request.

Kearney has an unusual shared law-enforcement setup that matters when requesting arrest records. The Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office have shared the Law Enforcement Center since 1993, but their patrol jurisdictions remain different.

   KPD currently says a mailed report costs $7 and asks the requester to send a self-addressed stamped envelope. Confirm the current procedure with Records before mailing payment.

Nebraska trial-court records are maintained in the statewide system known as JUSTICE. Court information can include the case summary, parties, criminal offense information, financial information and the register of actions showing filings, hearings and judge orders.

   Common names can generate several cases. Add available identifying details such as date of birth, case year or court information where the search supports them.
