The Sheriff’s Fugitive & Warrants Division processes and executes criminal arrest warrants. When a criminal warrant reaches the division, Douglas County says it is entered into the Sheriff’s computer database, the suspect is identified, criminal history is checked and the wanted person can be entered into NCIC before deputies or fugitive investigators attempt service.

Douglas County Georgia Record Restriction: “Expungement” Is Not the Current Term
Georgia generally refers to this process as record restriction, not expungement. Restriction limits access to eligible criminal-history information; it does not necessarily destroy the underlying court or law-enforcement record.
Douglas County’s Solicitor-General says eligible situations may include charges that were dismissed, nolle prossed, resulted in a not-guilty finding, closed without prosecution or completed through certain qualifying programs.
